Tim Gunn and Family
We are very delighted to see what God can do in and through our lives and the lives of our young people as we step up as your new Youth Leaders. Through much prayer, we feel honored and blessed to have this opportunity. Though we may be new members to FUMC, we both have been in ministry our entire marriage. Tim, a full time teacher of 19 years, is currently at Kings Mountain Middle School and is Director of Fellowship of Christian Athletes at his school. "Serving and sharing God’s love to young people has always been my passion," Tim Gunn shares. Andrea is a part time fitness trainer and a full time mother of two children, Brooklyn 6th grade and Annastin 2nd grade. Working together, we aspire to lead, grow and mentor our youth to be Christ followers, too. We plan to have a lot of fun and have some exciting trips in the works, but moreover we want to seek God in all that we say and do. This is very exciting for us and some transition is to be expected, so we covet your prayers and support. Jeremiah 29:11—the peace we lean on and the peace we pass on. We want to invite you all to a "meet and greet" Sunday, September 8th at 5:00 P.M. to kick off our first youth night. Can’t wait to get to know you all better!
In His Grip, Tim and Andrea Gunn
Junior High: 5:00-6:00
Senior High: 6:30-7:00
Sunday night is a time where the youth get together and learn more about spirituality and what it means to be a Christian. The lessons are broken down by 4-5 week series and the subjects range from learning about God’s purpose for their lives to missions to basic knowledge about the bible. These studies are very open and inviting. Everyone is welcome no matter their beliefs or knowledge about Christianity.
Church Wide Dinner: 5:45
Youth Group: 6:45-8:00
Wednesday nights begin with a ten to fifteen minute devotion which is followed by a time of fellowship. Fellowship includes group games, preparing for special events such as the Christmas parade, and team building.
Time and Date: Every Tuesday at 7:30am
The youth breakfast is a time of fellowship that begins with a short devotion which is followed by a time of eating. Afterwards, the youth are driven to school by volunteers. This is a unique way of fellowshipping before a busy school day.
We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities and we welcome anyone who wants to volunteer. If interested please contact me.
Our youth group does a wide variety of activities along with our Wednesday and Sunday night programming. These events are posted on the monthly calendar. The monthly calendar is posted outside of the youth and is available by e-mail or in paper copy form upon request.
All youth must have a permission slip on file in order to participate in any activities other than the youth breakfast and Wednesday or Sunday night activities. Permission forms are available outside of the youth room. Only one permission form is needed for all of the activities that occur during that year.
